SHOT 19 Restrained joint main in the trench, riser stub in view

Section 04 · Fire

Underground Fire Lines

Inspected harder than anything else we put in the ground, and built with that in mind.

The Scope

The fire main between the public tap and the building riser, in restrained joint pipe with the fittings and blocking the fire detail demands. Fire piping runs deep in our permit record, including four inch private mains through a Greenville planned development.

Stub-up location, flange elevation, and schedule get coordinated with the sprinkler contractor, so the riser crew lands on ready pipe.

What Acceptance Takes

  • Hydrostatic test at the pressure the spec calls for
  • Underground flush before the riser connection
  • Thrust restraint per the approved detail, inspected open-trench
  • Contractor's material and test certificate signed off
