Dirt is the first trade on every site and the one every other trade stands on.
The Scope
Clearing and demolition, then mass excavation that balances cut against fill. Pads brought to subgrade, proof rolled, stone base placed to the geotech's spec.
Fine grading behind the curb crew. Swales cut where the grading plan wants the water walking. Silt fence, inlet protection, and a stabilized entrance that survives the first muddy Monday.
What Acceptance Takes
- Density tests hitting the geotech's number, lift by lift
- Proof roll passed under the inspector's eye
- Pad elevations shot against the grading plan
- SWPPP measures in place before the first storm, not after
